This movie starts with a lady getting ready to head out for a drive
Sees one of her 3 elephant figurines is missing
As she drives with several stop overs she meets people who have already known her the day before
A little girl has her missing elephant
She buys a yellow dress again
And finally she discovers she has taken that trip, and it ended up in a murder
Hence her mile northwest loss

Thankyou to those who answered my enquiry, it seems I have watched both movies listed in the below answers, and as a child at the time of watching, I had mixed them up in my recollection.
I have just watched the movie again, and loved it, both are very similar and thats why I could not find it.
appreciate your help, best regards and thanks again, David 🙂

Part of it reminds me of “Le orme”: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0071950/?ref_=tt_urv

Edit: It is from the 70s, has a young woman suffering from amnesia and yellow dress plays a prominent role. She also interacts with a young girl, who helps her. However, I don’t remember anything about the elephant figurines.

Do you remember the country it was from?
