I remember watching it around 2011 (not in 2012 for sure) on tv. So if I i had to guess it would have been out around 2009-2000 (it looked pretty new).

The movie is about a girl, living with her mom alone. They are making do fine, the girl is around 16 years old.
I think they were poor, but not sure.
don’t remember why, but the girl left her mother to live at her father’s. Her father is some kind of lord / royalty who never had contact with her before.
Over there, she get introduced to high society England, gets to spend time with her father, learn about the hardship of high society, and even find love (I kinda remember there was a date scene where they go around the market and she tries something on).

In the end there’s a party, which I think the girl was getting married to the boy, and her father is walking with her to the isle (which should be emotional) and at the end the father and mother dance.

Oh now that I finish writing I think the father tell the girl he always loved her mother but had obligations and couldn’t marry her, and pretty sure the mother never told him she got pregnant.

Would be awesome if someone can help, cause I’ve been trying to figure it out and run out of ideas already.
