I’m trying to find a movie I watch sometimes in the late 90s or early 2000s. At one point, a character in the movie (adult man) is executed in this unusual way: He is bound with ropes and abandoned in a cave near the beach. Some time after, crabs show up and start eating him alive by tearing small chunks of flesh from his body. He is unable to move, so he tries (in vain) to stop them by blowing on them. At one point one of the crabs gets a hold of his eyeball and pulls it.

I think the plot involved him getting in trouble with pirates, the mafia, or some similar bad group of people. It was set in modern day. I think the movie came out in the 90s, but I’m not sure. It seemed like a Hollywood movie, genre was action/thriller/crime or something like that.
