Starts out when 2 brothers and 1 friend go near a frozen pond. One of the brothers falls in and the friend tries to save him. Years later the live brother is grateful to the friend and builds him a house. He finds his brother\’s watch in a drawer in the house. Turns out the friend drowned the other brother to steal his watch. The man who built the house (who is very ill) burns down the house. I think it might be British.
