Christmas Movie Help

I only vaguely remember a theme to this movie. I want to say it’s prior to the 90s but could be 90s.

It’s an animated movie about a little star who feels alone in the sky and ends up fullfiling his life as the topper on a Christmas tree for a family and shiny brightly. I’ve exhausted all my Google skills. Please help.
