Foreign non english movie where a mans wife is murdered and the killer is not convicted. At the end it is revealed that the man has held the killer captive and imprisoned in his second house as punishment by force. At the end the murderer asks another character to tell the husband to at least talk to him and keep him company (sort of) while he is serving his sentence

Nah I don’t think thats it, in the movie you only find out in the end he has been keeping the murderer captive.
