I am trying to find a film in which a man helps an African woman give birth

Hello,

I remember a film which I saw in my childhood. It was about a Western (probably American) or a Black man (I have forgotten it) who helped a community in Africa. I clearly remember only one scene when he helps a woman to give birth. The Black woman was wearing a colorful (maybe flowered?) dress, and lying in the left side of the picture. She was a bit chubby. I also remember that the baby did not cry at first.
