Photographic Memory

The movie is from the late 50’s or early 60’s
At the end of the movie a teenage girl is being shown a home movie by police or secret agents of a group of men talking. There is no sound. The girl is being asked to remember what the men were saying.
The dialogue goes something like this…
Girl – Damn
Police – Try to remember
Girl – No, that is what Father said when he burned a hole in his coat (perhaps by dropping a cigarette)

I believe it was in black and white and may have been a British film
I also recall that the “killer” was chasing the girl throughout the film with, maybe, her bother(s) and/or sister(s)
