I’ve only seen this movie once and don’t remember the title nor any of the actors. I probably saw in the late 80’s or early 90’s. It takes place in a WWII Japanese prison camp somewhere in the Pacific towards the end of the war. The prisoners (I believe Americans and Australians) are told they are going to be executed (beheaded). Each prisoner is teamed up with their Japanese executioner, who must learn about the prisoner personal life before they’re executed. The prisoners are all executed about two weeks before Japan surrenders.
I enjoyed the movie, never gave it much thought because I was sure that I would see it again someday, but never have.
