What is the name of this foreign film?

Trying to find the name of a foreign film I think from the nineties. It is about an artist living in a roughly mediaeval European city under seige. He lives with his two assistants, a younger teenaged boy and girl. When the invaders finally capture the city, they take the artist and his assistants as hostages and force the artist to create works for them (I’ve got a vague recollection of the leader of the group requesting a statue of himself be made). There is sexual tension between him and the teenage girl and towards the end she seduces him before murdering him.

Please help me re-discover this interesting film.
