That is a scene from the 1987 film Aria. Aria was an anthology of short films made by notable directors, each set to a different opera aria. The scene you posted is from what I consider the absolute highlight of the film. Directed by Franc Roddam, the dialog free segment was set to the music of Wagner’s Tristan and Isolde (absolutely not the music playing in your clip). A very young Bridget Fonda is the actress; I think it was her first film. The ending (not in the clip) is like a punch in the gut, but it is pure perfection.
British director Julien Temple (who got his start making music videos in the 1980’s) contributes a very funny segment that stars Buck Henry. He interprets Verdi’s Rigoletto as a bedroom farce set in the famous Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo. That segment is my second favorite.
Some of the other segments were not nearly as interesting, though landmark directors like Jean-Luc Godard, Robert Altman, Nicolas Roeg, and Derek Jarman all contributed segments to the film.
